Greetings from Purdue University and congratulations to the Association of Purdue Chinese Alumni for the work you are doing.

Purdue is an international university. Of the 4,994 international students enrolled at Purdue in 2007 fall, there are nearly 800 students from China, ranking third behind India and South Korea. In addition, this past year, nearly 200 Purdue students studied in China, an all-time high.

Success in American academia requires hard work and proper social skills. Due to different cultural backgrounds and ways of communications, it could be difficult for people from a different culture in terms of communicating effectively with their peers.  In this workshop, the panel will address topics such as life in the US, American cultures and etiquettes, immersing in the local communities, English language proficiency and social appropriateness.

我们将会讨论在美学习/生活期间心理素质的培养，美国文化/法律知识，公共场合的行为，融合美国社会，参加社区/校/系活动，基本口语和写作能力，着装和修饰，言谈和举止等
